B500 to Barden-Barden not all it’s cracked up to be

Total trip miles 970
Miles today 120

We rode up through the Black Forest today back into the Vosges mountains. I was really looking forward to riding the legendary B500 but if I am being honest it was a bit of a let down. Fantastic views but crippled with traffic and a 50MPH speed limit. There were also police doing speed checks. The roads leading up to the B500 however were fantastic.

Wolfach was a very quain little town that you enter through and archway. All
The streets are cobbled and there is a small stream that runs in a stone gully down the Main Street. We stooped for a coffee and had to walk to find a cash machine because the would not take card below €25! The owner refused to take €25 off me when I could not find a cash machine and instead accompanied me down the street to find one.

Another stop off for coffee, this time in Baiersbonn for these apple donut thing’s , very nice.

Stopped for a stretch of the legs, very religious around here

Our digs in Niederbronn-les-Bains are lovely and very rustic.

The mighty Wing even has its own little home
