Mileage total - 1490 Mileage today - 15 Toll roads £0 The Cloth Hall, called the Lakenhalle in Flemish, is located in the centre of Ypres. “Laken” is the Flemish word for a type of high quality woollen woven cloth.  It is also home for the  In Flanders Fields Museum St. Martin's Cathedral, destroyed in WW1 and rebuilt. Free to get in but be quick, we were only in there for 10 minutes before being ushered out and told the doors were being shut. House of god not always open it would seem. Still got a couple of good pictures before they booted us out. In the WW1 museum of Lèpre (in the old cloth making building) you can search for people by location who gave their lives in WW1. I came across this fella from Buckley where I lived for 20 years. There was over 200 steps up to the Bell tower, Deb’s smiley face suggests we have only just started climbing. When I got to the very top off the bell tower there was a young lad in floods of tears and being consoled by his British mum. Turns...

Total mileage - 1475 Todays mileage -  Tolls paid so far £0 So, the plan today (in case it was not clear in the title) is to head to Ypres which is about 220km to the east of our digs last night in Marche-en-Famen. Yes, I know, very dull but we really need to get there and have a look around. Currently stopped at a services enjoying an expresso double. The lady behind the counter has the memory span of a goldfish, she places a little chocolate to go with the coffee on the counter, turns around to make the coffee, I take the chocolate (it is mine) and when she turns back around she has forgeten she put the chocolate on the counter and so I get another one. I was tempted to see how far I could push this but curse my  conscience and honest upbringing I stopped at one.  There is a Little shop here, they don’t sell much...

Total trip  miles- quite a lot Miles today, more than yesterday but less than the first day 🤪 Tolls paid - still £0 Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium passed through today.  We left our digs in Klotten, or tried to, our host was the nicest man but boy could he talk. He came out while we loaded the bike and insisted on talking to us. I literally think he was still talking as we rode away. La Roche en Ardenne (Belgium) A shopfront is definitely one of the strangest places I have parked. Murlenbach (Germany). Everywhere in Germany seems to be closed all the time. Lichtemborn (Germany). This wooden cabin was attached to a petrol station where you could buy coffee and food and then take it here to eat. We had to all to ourselves and sheltered from the rain for about an hour. Clervaux (Luxembourg) Le Big Mac Deb took this photo, not that impressive. Made us miss our cats Nice French bloke took this and apologised for not being very good at taking pictures. I think he did ok. Inside wa...
