Great digs, Ideal being able to keep an eye on the Mighty Wing

Too much? Ok perhaps I am a little OCD where the bike is concerned
Digs were brilliant last night, we got up early because I had seen something in the news regarding blockades and also a message from DFDS Saying we should be there 2 hours early due to traffic. Turns out DFDS were talking total tosh, ride to the port was zero traffic and we got on the 8am rather than 10am ferry. What a beautiful day 🌞.

‘ let’s get a quick photo before we go, no, in front of the bike, count to 10, smile’

Kate Winslet take note, that’s how to act.

We parked the Wing on the beach in a cycle bay which involved careful threading it through some bollards. Almost as soon as we parked two vans parked next to the bollards blocking our ability to get out. Bit of a panic by Rob abated when they moved just in the nick of time allowing us to leave to set off to meet our Brugge Airb&b host ‘Sabine’
She tipped us off on an underground car park just off one of the side streets not far from our room. Deb jumped off the bike as there was a very steep gradient down to the ticket barrier to get in. The barrier instructions were in Dutch and Deb made a valiant, if somewhat crap attempt to get us a ticket while I held the bike on the brakes. After what seemed like an eternity, but was probably only 5 mins we had created a traffic jam in the street and were being pressured by increasingly aggressive car horns. Admitting defeat Deb ran off to get help from one of the drivers and then we were in.
Sabine was lovely and spoke good English giving us lots of advice and some maps to follow.
From our window we can see the Belfry made famous in the film ‘In Bruges’
Brugge is lovely, we sampled their world famous chocolate, it melted everywhere. We sampled several glasses of their world famous beer and we are of course going to sample their world famous waffles.
There are fast pushbikes and horse drawn carriages everywhere which combined with a few beers inside you becomes a little dodgy to step out into the street. There was a Smurf and Tin Tin museum where you could buy a TinTin model for €1495 😱
